The Heritage Apartments Fire: Documentary And Fire Prevention Video (Due To The Length Of This Movie It Is Divided Into Three Parts)
On February 02, 2003, at 03:39:00 hours, Fayette County 911 dispatched The Uniontown Fire Department to 25 W. Peter Street, in the Cirty of Uniontown for a reported fire on the 3rd floor of the Heritage Apartments in Uniontown, PA. This building is a mid-rise, elderly occupied apartment building that was not protected by a fire sprinkler at the time of the fire. Only through due diligence in practicing evacuation drills on behalf of the occupants, building management, and the Uniontown Bureau of Fire, no lives were lost in this fire. Fire Bureau code enforcement personnel have since mandated the retrofit of a sprinkler system included with the repairs from the fire to the building. However, the occupants and Fire Bureau personnel still faithfully hold tenant meetings and practice evacuation drills. The occupants, management, and the Fire Bureau have a great rapport with each other, and this cooperation is what meant the difference between life and death on (insert date again here). This is the story of that incident and the lessons learned. This is a professionally produced documentary, made for the Uniontown Bureau of Fire to show the public.
